Hello HJCS Families. We are celebrating our annual International Night on Friday, May 17th from 6:00-7:30pm. Families and community members are invited to bring a family/ethnic/regional dish to share while we celebrate our different cultures with food, music, and performances by scholars. Please look at the flyer for details and let us know if you plan to bring a dish, just come eat, or plan to attend for your scholar’s performance. We look forward to seeing you there!

HJCS Families…This week is Spirit Week! Each day will be a different fun day for scholars to enjoy prior to Holiday Break!
During the month of October, HJCS was approached by the Free Food Fridge of Albany and the Honest Weight Food Co-Op to redesign and re-paint the Free Food Fridge located at the corner of Watervliet Ave next to the Co-Op.
All 3rd grade scholars were given an opportunity to submit designs and THREE of our HJCS scholars had their artwork chosen! The three 3rd graders, Mofeoluwa Atoyebi, Aunri Douglas, and Mila Williams, had their designs painted on the Free Food Fridge by professional muralist Cara. M. Hanley at the Honest Weight Food Co-Op on Watervliet Ave.
The Honest Weight Food Co-Op and Free Food Fridge of Albany will be holding a celebratory event to recognize ALL third grade scholars who participated on Thursday, December 14th from 5:30-6:30.

The Albany Public Library will be celebrating our scholar authors and illustrators at the Young Author's Night tomorrow evening, Nov. 7th, from 6-7pm at the Washington Ave branch of the Albany Public Library.
